Professionals & Community Training
Our comprehensive training programs are designed for client-facing stakeholders in County Durham who seek to deepen their understanding of various health risks and learn effective intervention strategies. Our courses provide valuable information on identifying and addressing health concerns, with a focus on empowering individuals to make positive changes.
Our Level 1 Service – Basic Brief Intervention Training
Our Level 1 training offer is suitable for client-facing stakeholders in County Durham, who would like to enhance their understanding of the risks associated with smoking and the benefits of quitting. We provide information on how to engage and motivate a smoker to start their journey towards quitting, the support options available (including information on vapes) and how to refer a smoker to Smokefree County Durham for support.
All sessions are free and delivered virtually, via Microsoft TEAMS.
Level 2 Service – Stop Smoking Advisors
We offer a robust training and support package, enabling in house practice staff to become Level 2 Stop Smoking Advisors, and work directly with their patients on their quit attempts. We provide funding to cover both training and delivery. Level 2 training dates are available on the 1s4h homepage.
